SAFE MISSION TRIPS: ARE YOU GOOD TO GO?

This seminar provides an insurance, legal liability, and risk management overview of the risks associated with sponsoring short-term mission trips and/or full-time missionaries  outside of Canada.  Included is a discussion of Security, Health and Medical, and Injury and Liability risks, including  practical tips for keeping your staff and volunteers safe, and your organization and directors out of court.

A PATHWAY FOR DEEPER RELATIONAL AND MISSIONAL HEALTH: BIBLICAL PATTERNS AND STORIES

Presenter: Jervis Djokoto

This is the first of three workshop sessions that have been designed to help FMCIC Churches discover biblical patterns and practices that will help them achieve deeper relational and missional health. Developed as a result of a national listening tour, this workshop will simplify and integrate some of the essential elements from established Church Health tools like the LifePlan, while introducing newer areas of consideration. The journey toward church health is anchored in three foundational steps: See God’s Plan, Discern Your Context, and Close the Gap. 

A PATHWAY FOR DEEPER RELATIONAL AND MISSIONAL HEALTH: A LOCAL CHURCH PERSPECTIVE

Presenter: Darrin Lindsay

A continuation in the Pathway for Deeper Relational & Missional Health series, this workshop will pick up the kingdom patterns found in Acts 6:1-7 as they relate to local church ministry. Through stories and a learning exercise, participants engage with the principles discussed.

A PATHWAY FOR DEEPER RELATIONAL AND MISSIONAL HEALTH: GLOBAL PATTERNS AND PERSPECTIVES (ICCM)

The third part of this series focuses on the “ends of the earth” and how local churches can build global partnerships. To further our goal to interact with different cultures collaboratively, respectfully and lovingly as Christ modeled, we will look at questions such as: Why is it important to focus on the ends of the earth? How can we make a significant contribution with our FM brothers and sisters? We are a small church and don’t have much to give globally – how can we participate?

This presentation will look at the joys and sorrows of being a pastor’s wife. It will also explore some tools to not only help you survive, but also enjoy this life role. Being a pastor’s spouse is not easy role to be in, but it is one that God has called many of us to.

How to Grieve Well and Be a Companion for Grieving People- in this workshop, Cam provides guidance and support to help you navigate your own losses, as well as tools and tips for coming alongside those in your life who are grieving their own losses.

CHURCHES CARING FOR CREATION - WHAT CAN WE DO?

Presenter: Anthony Siegrist

What can churches do to care for creation? How might churches incorporate caring for God’s world into their congregational life and mission? Can we be hopeful and alarmed about the state of the natural environment at the same time? This workshop will explore ways to get started and ways to make more of a difference in this critical missional frontier, including examples, practical steps, and new ideas.

SMALL CHURCH CONNECTIONS

Presenter: Rev. Dr. Ron Johnston

For three and a half years, Small Church Connections has partnered with The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada and eleven other organizations to complete a ground-breaking research project on Small Churches in Canada. On January 17, 2023 the results of that research project were released, and thousands of small-church leaders have been impacted by those results. This workshop will combine findings from the Significant Church project with practical lessons learned by the presenter over his more than thirty years in small-church pastoral ministry. This workshop is specifically designed to give the small-church leader a deeper appreciation for the unique ministry to which God has called them.

The National Prayer Team shares how they are helping the FMCIC become a House of Prayer for all nations through a growing prayer ministry and helping local churches to become houses of prayer. During this time, they offer practical resources, and testimonies of how this is making a powerful difference.

THE GRATEFULNESS EXPERIMENT

This workshop explores a Biblical understanding of gratefulness “in everything,” and how gratitude isn’t simply a solo wellbeing practice, but an important prayer discipline in life together.

CHRISTIAN CONFERENCING: RECOVERING THE HISTORIC GENIUS OF METHODISM

This workshop explores the development and practice of “Christian Conferencing” as a means of grace. In addition, to its historic foundation in John Wesley and the Methodist movement, this session will consider the implications of a robust practice of Christian conferencing for the church today.

LOVING A MOSQUE COMMUNITY TOGETHER PRAYER INITIATIVE

Loving a Mosque Community Together is a prayer initiative by the Loving Muslims Together Network. Join us in this webinar where Lorna Johnston shared how you and your church can engage in prayers of love and compassion for those who call your neighbourhood mosque their home. You will also hear from Pastor Frank Klassen and his wife Riad Klassen, whose church adopted a mosque community to pray for, and shared how the Lord used them to bring Muslims to faith in Jesus.
