Presenter
Rev. DON MILLER
Church Relations Director

The first twelve years of Don’s life were spent in remote rural areas of Southern Africa. His parents were missionaries who worked alongside pastors in teaching and discipleship programs. Those early years shaped his life in ways that would only be fully appreciated much later in his journey.

Don is a Free Methodist pastor who served for many years at Arlington Woods Church in Ottawa. He then joined the Canadian Bible Society for nine years working with churches and individuals across Canada.  The fall of 2016 brought him back to his African roots as a part of World Relief Canada (Now Tearfund Canada) and the countries they serve in Sub-Saharan Africa..

Don’s passion is to help pastors, churches and leaders partner with God to build transforming relationships with people and communities living in poverty around the world.

Most recently Don was in Ethiopia and Kenya where he experienced first-hand the impact of the work of Tearfund Canada. He heard many stories of lives dramatically transformed as people engaged with the local church. Both of these countries have areas in extreme drought and people are living under difficult conditions. Yet, in both of those countries some incredible things are happening to lift people out of poverty.
