What Is A Healthy Church?

A healthy Church is a Biblically-grounded, Jesus-centered, Spirit-empowered, and mission-oriented community of dedicated disciples.

Revitalization Pathways Framework

(formerly LifePlan)

This holistic approach to church health revolves around a continuous cycle: Rediscovering God’s Plan for your church, carefully Evaluating your Context, and taking action to Close the Gap by devising a plan and implementing necessary changes by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Transitional Ministry

The FMCIC Approach to Church Transitions

The departure of a pastor is a significant change event for a church. However, it is also a opportunity to see God at work in your congregation. Our goal is to come alongside churches in transition so they can, in God’s time, welcome a new lead pastor into a healthy church.

Regional Coaches

Regional coaches work alongside pastors, boards, and churches to equip and encourage them as they pursue being a healthy church that takes responsibility for their community.

P.R.A.Y. Framework for Church Health

In partnership with the Church Health Team, we are developing resources rooted in the following framework:

P-Preconditions for health

“Restoration of relationships – with God and others.”  Renewal is fundamentally relational. Without unity and peace (both upward and outward), there can be no genuine renewal that leads to health.

R-Revitalization for health

Once preconditions are met, churches must engage in a structured revitalization pathway, guided by a clear strategy wheel.

A-Analyze your health

Utilize various CH tools to “Discover the main characteristics of a healthy church” and where a church falls in that. This is where a clear working definition of church health and our new assessments come into play.

Y-Yielding for ongoing health

“Yield to the conditions for long-term health.” Sustaining long-term spiritual health requires faithfulness, spiritual warfare, and proactive measures.

Annual Reports

Annual reports for churches are far more than a recitation of programs, attendance, or giving trends—they’re a vital gauge of Church Health. Completing the report helps churches identify areas needing care—perhaps new support systems, discipleship opportunities, or outreach adjustments. In short, annual reporting fosters healthy self-awareness and intentional growth, guiding churches toward deeper impact and more faithful service of God and our communities.
