40 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Week 6 Prayers from the Bible

These are prayers prayed by people of God in the Bible, that He heard and answered. We can pray the principles of these prayers in our situations too, and expect that He will answer.

Day 36 (May 10, 2020)

Paul prays that the church of Ephesus would be filled with all the fullness of God – a prayer we can pray for our local church, the church of our community and the FMCIC. (Eph. 3:14-21)

Day 37 (May 11, 2020 )

The prophet Habakkuk prayed that despite the oppression they were experiencing because of God’s discipline, He would show them mercy by renewing them. May God renew us as well. (Hab.3:2)

Day 38 (May 12, 2020)

Nehemiah prayed, fasted and wept as he sought the Lord’s forgiveness for himself and God’s people and as He sought the Lord’s help to rebuild what they had lost. May God grant us the gift of that kind of praying. (Neh.1:3-11)

Day 39 (May 13, 2020)

In the face of much opposition the early church asked for boldness to proclaim the gospel with signs and wonders confirming their message, and we can pray that way too as we face increasing opposition in our society. (Ac.4:1-31)

Day 40 (May 14, 2020)

Heaven is full of praise to Him who sits on the throne and the Lamb and so should earth be. Let us lift praise to God for His great victory over sin, death and hell through the blood of our Saviour. (Re.5:8-14)
