They say it is better to give than to receive. Actually, He said it. Jesus that is. Paul, writing in Acts 20 quotes Jesus, as he says farewell to the elders at Ephesus. Verses 33-35 read:

‘I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

Throughout the Bible we read that God intended us to be a generous people, using our time, our talents and our treasure to meet the needs of others and to glorify God. When we live our lives as faithful stewards, He promises to meet all our needs and to reward us richly for eternity!
