FMCIC PENSION PLAN
As part of working together, we are able to provide a pension plan for staff to provide in their retirement. It is up to each individual local church to offer the pension plan as part of the letter/offer of employment and is based on board approval. .
We provide a Defined Contribution (DC) Pension Plan with Canada Life
All Staff Full-time with 35 or more hours/week qualify. Part-time staff who have accrued 700 hours in 2 consecutive years can qualify with Board approval.
Staff contribute a minimum of 3%-6% voluntary contributions but can contribute up to 12% with the approved form signed by the treasurer.
Contributions are matched by the local church/organization up to 6% max.
In the past, we also offered a Defined Benefit Pension, but it was frozen in 2009 at the time of sale to Brookfield (now Blumont Annuity.) This plan is only currently active for pastors who were on it before it was frozen. For more information on the DB Pension Plan, please refer to the Pension Plan Booklet.
