Edna Viola (Holmes) Wilkins was born February 27, 1917 at Seeley’s Bay, Ontario, and died July 21, 2011 at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

On April 29, 1938 she married Rev. Arthur Wilkins. They had 7 children – 5 boys and 2 girls. Pastor Arthur and Edna pastored several churches across Ontario. They began their ministry together in the Holiness Movement Church and after the Holiness Movement Church joined the Free Methodist Church in 1959, they continued pastoral ministry in the FM Church until retirement in 1974. They pastored at Cobden (ON), Watertown (NY), Campbell’s Bay (QC), Harrowsmith (ON), Campbellford (ON) and Gravenhurst (ON). (Then after retirement to Matepedia, Quebec, they took the Cobden Church again for 1 year).

Edna was a gentle kind person. She never said an unkind word about anyone. Her ministry was, first of all, to her family. However, she was loved as the Pastor’s wife because she cared deeply for others. Hers was a life of sacrifice and self-giving. She deeply loved God and lived out this love by touching others with kindness and true Christian compassion.

She was truly one of God’s great saints.
