- Story
Albert, born in Kingston, ON, went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2015 in his 90th year. Albert served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII, worked for Kodak, the Canadian Locomotive Co., the city of Kingston, and as a radio broadcaster before realizing his call as a pastor.
Albert vividly showed his love for God, his wife and family, and the church. His wife Dorothy, recalls fondly how based on his heart and gifts, she knew his call to ministry before he did. Pastorally, they served Free Methodist congregations in Calgary, Newmarket, Hamilton, Milan, Michigan and two churches in the Genesee Conference in New York.
Retirement to Albert was an opportunity for a new season to share God’s love in Police Chaplaincy. It was also an opportunity to express his love of learning, completing two degrees after the age of 60 and authoring two books on compassionate ministries to seniors.
Albert was survived by his wife Dorothy, their three children, Karen, James and Ann and her husband Tom. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
We are thankful for the faithful service of our brother Albert.
