Beloved husband of Phylis for 58 years, loving father of Paul and Pauline (David) Palmer, and grandfather to Hannah. The Lord led Dr. Lysander into ministry in the Free Methodist Church through various circumstances and people. Dr. Lysander ministered at Umri Mission Hospital as a physician and hospital superintendent/administrator.

After immigrating with his family to Canada in 1970, he served in the Free Methodist Church in Timmins (Sunday School teacher, leading Bible study), Smiths Falls (Sunday School superintendent and teacher, teen Bible study teacher, visitation, guest speaker in various churches), and Toronto (pastor, Sunday School teacher, leading Bible study, visitation, ministering to shut‐ins, guest speaker in various churches). Rev. Lysander was ordained as a Free Methodist pastor in 1987, as an elder shortly thereafter, and served as pastor for Eastern Koinonia Church (Indo‐Pakistani Church), Tamil Church and assisted in various pastoral duties at Wesley Chapel.
