Muriel Hammond passed away at age 99 in Edmonton, AB where she had lived for 42 years. She was the loving wife of Rev Meldrum Hammond and the mother of 4 children, including namesake daughter Muriel who with husband Dr. Tim Teusink served as Free Methodist missionaries in Ethiopia. Muriel and Mel formed a ministry team throughout his pastoral ministry in Birch River, Roblin and Brandon, MB, Eyebrow, Broadview Indian Reservation, Wawota and Spiritwood, SK and Parkdale, AB. Muriel exercised her leadership gifts for over two decades in the CYC children’s program – in her local churches, in the SK conference, and at the CYC Camps at Arlington Beach. Muriel was an excellent Bible teacher, her concern for others knew no boundaries, and her hospitality was experienced at Sunday lunch by any newcomers at church. She often quoted Psalms 16:6 “The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.”
