Phyllis Elizabeth age 96 of Chatham passed away Monday December 29, 2014 at Riverview Gardens in Chatham, ON.

When asked to describe Phyllis in a sentence, former Bishop Gary Walsh said, “She was a wonderful, godly woman who had genuine empathy and concern for his spiritual well-being.” He went on to reminisce about the Fletchers as staff members of Lorne Park College who were especially kind to the students – reaching out to them with hospitality, sensitivity and compassion. In services at the college, if there was a sense of the movement of the Holy Spirit among the students, both John and Phyllis would each quietly move toward seeking students – earnest for the Lord to accomplish his purposes in the students’ lives and quietly enthusiastic that the Spirit of God was at work.”

Together by Rev. Fletcher’s side Phyllis served congregations in Thedford and Sharon; Zion; Sault Ste Marie; Dunnville; Buchanan Park, Hamilton; Tillsonburg; Thamesford and Ridgeway.

Before Rev. Fletcher passed away in 2009, the couple enjoyed 70 years of marriage. Phyllis is survived by her daughters Donna Medel, Judy Kitchen and son Charles Fletcher and their spouses; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
