Equipped To Pray

Equipped To Pray

One of the most valuable things a church can offer is people who know how to pray with others in a way that’s healthy, biblical, and truly impactful.  Training for this kind of prayerful presence is what’s being offered this fall at Chapel Ridge Free Methodist Church in Stittsville, Ontario.

On October 23–24, 2026, Chapel Ridge is hosting an Altar Prayer Ministry Training with Bud Simon, a prayer ministry trainer who has helped equip prayer teams for the Ashbury Seminary Outpouring and has coached churches across the country in developing healthy, Christ-centered prayer ministries.

Altar prayer ministry isn’t just something that happens at the front of a sanctuary. At its core, it’s the practice of coming alongside people who are responding to God’s presence that results in encouragement, healing, freedom, wisdom, or a fresh filling of the Spirit.  Prayer ministry is about praying with people in a way that’s attentive, compassionate, and pastorally wise.

The training runs Friday evening through Saturday afternoon, with hands-on teaching, demonstration, and guided practice. Bud will also be speaking Sunday morning at Chapel Ridge, for anyone able to stay.

This is a great opportunity for pastors, ministry leaders, prayer team members, small group leaders, and youth to grow in confidence and biblical grounding for prayer ministry.  Consider sending someone from your church who can bring back what they’ve learned to strengthen your own congregations.

Early bird pricing ($50 adult / $40 young adult / $30 youth) runs until September 25, 2026.
