How to Calculate CORE Ministry Giving

Start with the amount for the church’s total receipts/donations of the previous year. (Note – this does not include any Grants awarded to the church as they are deemed designated funds not donations)

Subtract any FMC Designated Funds for Global Missions, Scholarships, ICCM Sponsorship or Bishop’s Relief Fund

Subtract any of your Church’s designated giving (other missions, building fund, debt reduction, short-term projects, etc.)

Subtract any Special Offerings given to a registered Canadian charity outside of the Local Church (Tear Fund, EFC, other charitable organizations) as these are considered a pass-through donation and not part of the budget
5
Subtract any Bequests received to the Local Church (as this is a designated gift)
6
The Sub Total is the Donations less all Designated Giving – is what your church will base the FMC Ministry Giving
7
Multiply this by 10% – modeling the Tithe of all non-designated giving received
8
The Balance is your church’s Annual Ministry Fund Giving Remittance.
