40 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Week 4 Prayers from the Bible

These are prayers prayed by people of God in the Bible that He heard and answered. We can pray the principles of these prayers in our situations too, and expect Him answer.

Day 22 (April 26, 2020)

David praises God for His very personal love for him and asks God to search him for sin to turn from (Ps. 139) and we can do the same.

Day 23  (April 27, 2020)

David asks for direction about a specific matter, listens and gets a specific answer (2 Sam. 2:1). We can expect God to speak to us when we practice listening prayer.

Day 24 (April 28, 2020)

Jabez cries out for blessing and that God would enlarge his territory (1 Chrn. 4:9,10). As a movement we can ask for that.

Day 25 (April 29, 2020)

Mary asked Jesus for help at a wedding and left the need with Him without prescribing how He should meet that need (Jn. 2:1-11).

Day 26 (April 30, 2020)

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray and that is what we are doing these days (Lu. 11:1).

Day 27 (May 1, 2020)

David pours out his heart in repentance for his gross sin and we can too, be forgiven, and blessed (Ps. 51).

Day 28 (May 2, 2020)

Paul’s prayer for the church to be strengthened, be rooted in love, know God’s love and be filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:14-21). We can pray this kind of prayer for ourselves, our churches and the FMCIC.
