With family at her side, Cora died peacefully on February 11, 2016 in Cobourg at the age of 95. She was the cherished wife of the late Leslie Freeman and the late Arthur Voteary.

Cora alongside her husband, Arthur, made a great team as together they pastored churches in Metcalf, Belfast, Ireland, Watertown, New York, Shawville, Quebec, Hamilton, Odessa, Uxbridge and Frankford. Cora often remarked there were many wonderful people in every place where they had lived.

Bishop Elford writes, “I was 16 years old when Cora and Pastor Voteary moved to Uxbridge and the Votearys became our pastoral family. Cora left her mark on the lives of the many people that she influenced during her years of ministry. As a teenager, … and as a young pastor … and now as a Bishop, I have always thought of Cora as one of those solid, godly women of faith who modelled a quiet strength and a gracious, mature presence among God’s people because of the depth of her relationship with the Lord Jesus.”
Cora is survived by her daughters Mary Anne, Shirley, Marilyn, Sharon, their spouses and children.
