- Story
Rev. David Dyer passed away peacefully at his home in Napanee in his 86th year on June 11, 2023. David was the loving husband of Charlotte. His first wife, Caroll predeceased him in 1995. They had two children, John and Valerie. David answered the call to ministry in 1956. While attending Lorne Park College, he was Assistant Pastor with the Goheens in Barrie, ON. He then pastored the Belhaven Free Methodist Church. While studying at Greenville College and Asbury Seminary, he pastored local churches. When David returned to Ontario, he pastored FM Churches at Richmond Hill, Trulls Road in Clarington, Cobourg, Perth, Napanee and Yarker. David continued to do pulpit supply, went on mission trips, and faithfully prayed for the FMCiC, its pastors, and the Church worldwide. David felt called by God to pray for and mentor young pastors. His impact on them was incredible. His passion for ministering to Retired Pastors laid the foundation for the forming of the Retired Minister’s Team on which he served. David influenced countless lives through prayer and personal connections.
