- Story
Norm was the son of a Free Methodist pastor and superintendent, Rev Earl Bull and wife Violet, in the former Canada East Conference of the Free Methodist Church.
Norm was the beloved husband of Jacquie, and devoted father to his four children. He doted on his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jill (Eves).
A graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College, Norm initially pursued a career in banking. In 1994 he was appointed as the Director of Administrative Services on the National Leadership Team of the FMCiC. Over the following 13 years in that role, Norm is remembered for his exceptional redevelopment of the denomination’s business functions. His knowledge was invaluable on pensions, investments, legal and financial matters, audits, church mortgages and general administrative functions and procedures.
Norm was respected for his thorough reports to the denomination’s Board of Administration and his prompt responses to inquiries from local churches. Lorne Park Foundation and the Free Methodist Foundation in Canada relied heavily on his knowledge of the legal and investment aspects of their ministries.
Norm lived a life of service. In his local church he gave generously of his time and gifts as a Sunday School teacher, board and committee member, trustee, treasurer, and in hands-on church upkeep. He also was involved in his community through his avid sport of curling. Anyone who engaged with Norm knew of his strong Christian faith and that he was a man of integrity and sage advice.
