The Rev. Dr. Robert Buchanan was the beloved husband of Elaine for 56 years. He was the father of Cindy and Scott, and proud of his 6 grandchildren. Born in Collingwood and raised on the family farm, he went on to attend Lorne Park College during which time he served a period as Student Pastor at a FM church plant in Whitby, Ontario. His continuing studies were at Asbury Theological Seminary and Princeton Seminary in preparation for his passion and calling for Christian Ministry. After being ordained, Robert was appointed as pastor in Smiths Falls and at the Kingsview and Wesley Chapel churches in Toronto. He also served as both Assistant to the Superintendent for the Western area in the 1970’s, and then as Conference Superintendent from 1980 to 1993.
