In high school Kim had dreams of being a doctor, but God had other plans. After graduating from Western (London, ON) with a science degree and Toronto with a B. Ed., she moved to Sarnia, ON and started a teaching career that lasted 11 years. It was in the fall of that first year that Kim was invited to the Sarnia Free Methodist Church (now New Horizons Community Church) and that was the beginning of 18 years, serving the faith community and the community at large. Kim was encouraged to pursue her own leadership development and so went back to school for a M. Ed. (Admin) from Windsor, ON and Principal Qualifications from Brock in St. Catharines. Another change happened seven years ago when she came on as pastoral staff at New Horizons, which prompted the need for theological training (MTS from Tyndale Seminary). Kim is ordained – and is a product of the system!
Even after years of lessons and practicing, Kim still enjoys playing the piano. She likes to walk, is working on running and one of her favourite places in the summer is the beach. She’s been known to head to the card aisles at book stores & drug stores for some ‘laugh therapy’.
Mississauga is a big place for this small town girl – but the journey continues.
