Have you ever noticed that many Christians view giving as a “have to” activity? I have to give because it says so in the Bible. Have you ever noticed that there are some people who view giving as something they “get to” do?
So what is the difference? You’d think that it probably has something to do with how much money they earn and have? But that isn’t it. It’s more about how much they spend and how they spend it.
People who “get to” give have redefined what is important to them. Buying stuff becomes less important and giving more important. Temporal things are less important, eternal things are more important. Looking successful to the world is less important, their role as faithful stewards for God is more important.
It’s about perspective.
