Culture and the Missional Church

Course Dates: 2025 Start date TBA

Prerequisite: Must be at least a Ministerial Candidate in the FMCiC (or a Lay Minister who is serving as a Lead Pastor in a local church)

Course Description: The Church is God’s chosen instrument for accomplishing Missio Dei (God’s Mission). This course is designed to introduce, integrate and practice tools for engagement with the cultures of our communities and beyond.  Fundamental to the use of these tools is the development of an understanding of culture and theology of mission that informs our engagement.

Course Objectives: Upon completion, participants will have:

  1. gained culture-general knowledge for understanding culture in both society and organizations
  2. interacted with and reflected upon biblical texts dealing with culture, diversity and change processes
  3. recognized the significance of Wesleyan worldview and practice in relation to contemporary ministry context

Please note this course is for those who have reached at least the Ministerial Candidate level in the tracking (or Lay Ministers serving as Lead Pastors).*
