Dying Well: Recovering the Art of Dying
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12
For much of Christian history, the church embraced a tradition known as ars moriendi — the art of dying well. Yet today, conversations about death are often avoided or left to cultural assumptions rather than guided by faith and wisdom.
Dying Well is a five-session study designed to help individuals, small groups, and churches reclaim this important conversation. Through insights from pastors, theologians, counselors, and palliative care physicians, this series explores topics such as grief and mourning, family dynamics, end-of-life and palliative care, faith, finances, and funerals.
Whether you are currently walking through grief, facing a life-limiting diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or simply seeking to prepare wisely for the future, this study offers biblical grounding, practical guidance, and compassionate encouragement.
Because death will touch every life, and we only get one opportunity to face it, learning to die well is also learning to live well. And as we engage this journey together, we do so in the hope and comfort of the God who walks with us through every season.
