40 Days of Prayer & Fasting: Week 1 Praise & Prayer Points

Day One (April 5, 2020, Palm Sunday)

PraiseThat God is stirring us up as a family of churches to pray for renewal and the fulfillment of God’s purposes through us in this world.

Prayer That God would grant us a spirit of supplication (Zech. 12:10) that will enable us to become a house of prayer for all nations.

Day 2 (April 6, 2020)

Praise – That God has led us as family of churches to embrace the purpose that we “exists to make known to all people everywhere God’s call to wholeness through forgiveness and holiness in Jesus Christ, and to invite into membership and equip for ministry all who respond in faith.”

Prayer – That since, in Christ, we are free to follow God, may we be filled with His Spirit to wholeheartedly follow Him into wholeness, holiness and the mission of reconciliation that He has called us to (Jn. 15:16).

Day 3 (April 7, 2020)

Praise – That God is uniting us as a family of churches to pursue a God-given vision of seeing “a healthy church within the reach of everyone in Canada and beyond.” (Prov. 29:18).

PrayerThat God would continue to unite us to be of one mind, one love, one spirit and one purpose so that we can be free to experience true community that brings transformation to the communities we live in (Php.2:1-11).

Day 4 (April 8, 2020)

PraiseThat we have a Godly heritage that has taught and practiced, that we can be free from the domination of sin, that everyone should be treated with dignity and equality, that the disadvantaged should be empowered, that we should promote the freedom that comes from being led by the Spirit.

Prayer That as movement, we will experience a fresh experience of the deep love and peace of God, that comes through His forgiving, healing, restoring and transforming grace, and that we will share it with our needy world as we did in days of past revivals (Ez. 37:1-10).

Day 5 (April 19, 2020)

PraiseThat God promises to take care of us and work everything for our good and His glory as we love Him, even during a pandemic (Rom. 8:28)

Prayer That in this time of darkness we will shine like lights, reflecting the glory of Jesus, and as a result  draw many to Him, the light of the world (Php. 2: 12-16).

Day 6 (April 10, 2020, Good Friday)

PraiseThat God became man to become the perfect sacrifice that would atone for our sins and enable us to be forgiven and reconciled to God for eternity (2 Cor. 5:19)

Prayer That as we celebrate the death of our Saviour this day, we would have the power to experientially know the breadth, length, height and depth of His love for us so that we will be filled with all the fullness of God (Eph. 3:18-19).

Day 7 (April 11, 2020)

Praise  That though Jesus’ body lay in the tomb, it was not abandoned there by God, nor did it decay as our bodies will, but was awaiting the resurrection from the dead that our bodies will one day experience when Jesus returns (Ac. 2:29-32).

PrayerThat during this time of uncertainty and transition, we will be a people overflowing with hope, joy and peace by the power of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 15:13).
