Instead of posting inspirational messages or scripture verses on their church sign, Picton Free Methodist church, in beautiful Picton, ON, made the strategic choice to post messages that bring a smile and chuckle to those who read it.
“We’re changing the sign weekly and are receiving hundreds of messages a week, most from strangers, about how much humour is so needed during this pandemic, and they appreciate our church providing it,” explains Lead Pastor Kevin Stenhouse. “In the words of one of our leaders, ‘We have been trying to make our church visible in the community, and our sign is doing it with great humour right now!'”
