Process for the Election of a Bishop
We are now receiving nominations for the office of bishop. Under ¶860 of The Manual, only those who are members of the General Conference (clergy, delegates) can propose names for consideration by the BLTF. If a member of a local church would like to recommend a name, they would need to put that name forward through their pastor or delegate.

Only ordained ministers of the Free Methodist Church who meet the minimum requirements (see attached Bishop’s Job Description) will be considered.

Please send your nominations through our BLTF email address, bltf@fmcic.ca. We will be receiving nominations until October 22, 2023.

Alors que nous entrons dans cette période de discernement, nous vous invitons à vous joindre à nous dans une prière fervente, alors que nous cherchons un nouvel évêque pour l’Église méthodiste libre au Canada. L’ETLE (anglais – BLTF) est unifiée dans l’esprit et l’engagement et a hâte de voir Dieu à l’œuvre au cours de ce processus.

Processus d’élection d’un évêque
Nous recevons maintenant des candidatures pour le poste d’évêque. En vertu de l’article 860 du Manuel, seuls les membres de la Conférence Générale (clergé, délégués) peuvent proposer des noms pour examen par l’ETLE (anglais – BLTF). Si un membre d’une église locale souhaite recommander un nom, il doit le proposer par l’intermédiaire de son pasteur ou de son délégué.
 
Seuls les ministres ordonnés de l’Église Méthodiste Libre qui satisferont aux exigences minimales (voir la description de travail de l’évêque ci-jointe) seront pris en considération.
