For those of you who may not know me, my name is Greg Ford and I am presently the chair of the Board of Administration. It is my pleasure as chair of the BOA to announce to you the results of the election for Bishop of the Free Methodist Church in Canada.
I would like to begin by expressing on behalf of the Board of Administration a heartfelt thank you to the members of the Bishop Leadership Task Force – Chris Pomeroy who chaired, Felix Twagirayezu, Sharon Lindsey, Sabrina Jordan, Vern Frudd, Thomas Eng and Dan Janssen for their prayerful and diligent work.
I also wish to say thank you to Lisa and Vinola here at the Ministry Centre for their oversight of the administrative work associated with the election.
And finally I wish to thank each of the eligible electors for taking the time to pray and discern what the Lord was placing on your heart and then exercising their responsibility in casting their votes.
So, the results of the election are as follows:
There were 335 eligible electors. There were 279 votes cast, of which 267 votes were cast for Rev. Dr. Clifford Fletcher.
I am therefore pleased to announce that the Rev. Dr. Cliff Fletcher is the Bishop Elect of the Free Methodist Church in Canada. On behalf of the Board of Administration I wish to extend my congratulations to Rev. Fletcher. We look forward to working with Bishop Elect Fletcher as we progress towards his consecration at General Conference 2017.
I invite everyone to pray for Bishop Elford and the members of the NLT in the days and weeks ahead, and to add Bishop Elect Fletcher , his wife Karlene and their family to our prayers.
Greg Ford, Chair of the Board of Administration
